Malcolm previously served as the NDP Member of Parliament for Niagara Centre from 2008 to 2015. During his time at Parliament Hill, Malcolm became known for his tenacity and his ability to get things done. Some of his most notable accomplishments include fighting to have poppies exempted from sales taxes and fast-tracking legislation that would require individuals convicted of serious violent crimes to wait an additional 5 years before seeking a pardon.
Malcolm served as the Official Opposition Critic for Agriculture and Agri-Food, and as Critic for Skills, Training, Apprenticeship, and Food Safety. Malcolm studied history and political science at Brock University. He served on the executive of the local steelworkers union for 12 years. He is proud to have served one term on Pelham Town Council and as Deputy Mayor of Pelham |
